Nicole Scherzinger is a judge on US X Factor
The Pussycat Doll was originally signed up to co-host the show but has now replaced Cheryl Cole, 27, on the panel after she was publicly dumped - a move that Jeff Haddad alleged was planned by the programme's bosses.
'I was very hurt by that,' says Nicole, 32. 'It unfortunately goes to show how much he doesn't know because the people at Fremantle Media and all the powers that be have no idea who he is. He wasn't involved.'
Jeff, who managed Nicole for 13 years, said Cheryl was used to 'cause hype and publicise' the show for its launch in America this autumn.
The Geordie singer has been keeping a very low profile ever since.
'It was a hard process for me and I'm sure for Cheryl,' Nicole tells Kidd Kraddick on his US radio show.
'Cheryl's a lovely girl and she's going to make the best decisions for her. She's gong to be great.
'I'll let my heart and what I do best speak for itself. And in the end all the other stuff's rubbish.'
